About our Doctor

Kenneth C. Hunt, O.D.

Dr. Kenneth Hunt lives in Lake Mary with his wife, Jennifer, and their three children. He and Jennifer are originally from Ocala, where they met in high school.  The Hunts have lived here, in the Lake Mary area, for over 12 years. They have fallen in love with the Lake Mary community and are excited to raise their family here. The Hunt's three children all are attending Heathrow Elementary School in the 2011 school year. They have two 2nd graders and one in kindergarten.

Dr. Hunt did his undergraduate work at the University of Florida, Gainesville, where he studied Microbiology. He attended Nova Southeastern College of Optometry, Ft. Lauderdale, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Vision Science in 1996 and his doctorate in Optometry in 1998. Dr. Hunt had the privilege of doing part of his externship training at the well-known Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, where he focused on low vision eye examinations, and at the Eye Centers of South Florida, Ft. Lauderdale, where the focus was primary care, ocular disease, and pre/post operative care.

Dr. Hunt first gained an interest in optometry in 1994 when he worked for Dr. R.E. Williams as a lab technician. This helped him gain valuable experience in the surfacing, edging, and finishing of Rx lenses. In 1999 Dr. Hunt took the opportunity to open his office, leasing space within a commercial optical setting in Sanford. There he established a loyal patient base over the next seven years by providing comprehensive eye exams, contact lens evaluations, pre/post operative care, red eye and ocular disease management. In 2007 Dr. Hunt made the decision to leave the commercialized optical setting and open his private practice in Lake Mary. This gave him the ability to better control the quality of his prescription eyewear and ophthalmic products.

Dr. Hunt has now been in his private practice for over 4 years. His patient family continues to grow by word of mouth and with much thanks to the referrals from his satisfied patients and friends.
